Can’t help feeling sad seeing this old book. And happy.

Great photo of an interesting item. As a former librarian I am sad when books get to this state, but it does show good use. At last I hope GOOD use, not careless use.

Love this! I hope that means it had a good life :)

And slightly related, I would turn our dictionary’s pages over and over to see how they changed just slightly to make those cut outs on the sides of the book. Yep, I’m weird.

Not weird, I’ve done that too. This book is great for staring at because they made the thumb index one direction for the left hand side of the book, and the other for the right. So very smart! I wonder why manufacturers don’t ever do it that way any more.

The thumb index is such a tactile thing, like a sculpture.

Very neat piece. So I’m thinking either that is one old book, or you have a very poor speller in your family. ;)

Well we do have a few bad spellers, but that is actually an old Bible. Worn beyond use.
