Sometimes it is surprising what is in your own back yard.  I never knew that the Andres Institute existed until my sister invited us on a hike.

IMG_0069It is a fantastic place full of innovative sculptures as divergent from one another as possible.  If you’ve ever wondered what a automobile dragon would look like, or what it feels like to have snipers sneak up on you, check it out, but beware, the hike is a bit steep, and poison ivy abounds.  Then again, if you can handle the dragon, I guess a little plant won’t bother you.

That looks like a really neat place! I love sculpture gardens. Poison ivy may be irritating, but so long as you know how to avoid it, it’s not a huge problem. It looks like dealing with that extra care was worth it, though.

We do overlook places which are nearby. It seems like a wonderful place.
