Can I be honest?

My laundry is currently taking over the upstairs hallway, I have spent the last few weeks in a series of time consuming doctor appointments, and I really have no desire to sit with my 4 year old and play the round of addition go-fish that I promised her.  Instead, I turned on an audiobook, printed a bunch of coloring pages off of google images, and have declared myself off duty for the next hour.

~  ~  ~  It is only 11:00AM.

Some days are a fun adventure around here.  Others are, well, lets just say they aren’t perfect.

I love the flow of our days – it is the ebb that I don’t like so much; the rolling backwards for a bit before we are able to swell forward again.

Finding flow within the zillions of interruptions is daunting, and breaking rhythm seems to be the only way to get back to normal.  Taking a break allows me to come back refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges.

So for now, I am going to seize the opportunity to ebb.  Soon I will have to rise with flow … but not for the next hour.
